Questions

Straight answers for newcomers.

I’m new to Canada with no credit history. Can you help?

Yes, we work with newcomers. Some lenders have programs for people building Canadian credit, based on things like your permit or residence documents and proof of income. We’ll tell you what applies to you.

What documents do I need as a newcomer?

Lenders usually ask for your permit or permanent resident documents, photo ID, proof of income and proof of address. Your specialist will confirm what applies to you.

Can I apply if I have just arrived?

You can apply. Lenders will want to see your documents and your income, and your specialist will tell you what to expect for your situation.

Will I need a SIN?

Yes. Lenders need your Social Insurance Number before they can approve a car loan. Your finance team will ask for it when you talk, not on the online form.

Will applying affect my credit?

The form is free and doesn’t commit you to buy anything. When you submit it, you’re giving permission for a credit check so lenders can review your application. If you have questions about that, ask us first.

Who will I be dealing with?

Windy, Maryam or Mike on the finance team at Morrey Nissan of Coquitlam, on Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam. Mr. Auto Finance is part of Morrey Auto Group, a family-owned group serving the Lower Mainland.
